Senior Consultant

Reporting to the VP, Services, this senior software engineering position is responsible for developing software for enterprise-wide product implementation projects and Web services engagements.  This position requires the ability to implement and integrate SOA Software’s Service Manager and XML VPN products as well as design, develop, test and document Web services software applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Service Manager and XML VPN implementations at customer sites
  • Assist with technical customer support during product evaluation phase and warranty period
  • Implement customer-specific software changes as needed
  • Assist or lead product demonstrations for prospective customers
  • Assist in providing customer support
  • Design and develop Service Oriented Architecture solutions for clients
  • Build robust, scalable, standards-based J2EE solutions
  • Design and develop software for client integration projects
  • Assist in developing detailed functional and design specifications based on business specifications / requirements
  • Assist with proposal development


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience implementing enterprise software products
  • Previous experience developing or implementing Web services solutions
  • 3+ years systems integration experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Understanding of enterprise deployment and implementation issues within a technology solution
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • 2+ experience using Java (J2EE), XML and database development on two or more computing platforms
  • 2 full software life cycles
  • Security: LDAP, Security Architecture
  • Product development experience desired
  • Travel 50%

  • Oracle, DB2, SQL, Sybase
  • Operating Systems:
    • Linux, Unix, Microsoft, Solaris

  • Application Servers:

    • Oracle 9iAS, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat

  • Security Tools:

    • Netegrity, IPlanet, Tivoli AM

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.  Masters degree and applicable certifications preferred.
