Principal Consultant

SOA Software is the leading provider of comprehensive enterprise class SOA management, security, and governance solutions. We are rapidly growing and offer exposure to the latest technologies.

This person is responsible for providing architecture and technical expertise and leadership on all enterprise-wide product implementation projects and Web services engagements.

Key responsibilities include guiding the design, development, implementation and technical integration of SOA Software’s Workbench and Service Manager products, interfacing with customer’s technology and management teams, keeping abreast of Web services technology trends, and gathering information on enterprise-wide technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Workbench and Service Manager implementations at customer sites
  • Assist with technical customer support during product evaluation phase and warranty period
  • Implement customer-specific software changes as needed
  • Assist or lead product demonstrations for prospective customers
  • Assist in delivering customer product training and providing customer support
  • Design and develop Service Oriented Architecture solutions for clients
  • Build robust, scalable, standards-based J2EE solutions
  • Lead client integration projects
  • Liaise with pre-sales, sales, technical and management teammates
  • Continually refine Web services development and coding conventions, revision control and development frameworks
  • Develop detailed functional and design specifications based on business specifications / requirements
  • Provide detailed documentation as required by clients
  • Serve as primary contact with customer and client throughout project
  • Develop software schedules and cost estimates
  • Assist with proposal development

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience implementing enterprise software products
  • Previous experience developing or implementing Web services solutions
  • 8+ years systems integration experience
  • 5+ years of Software Architect (or equivalent e.g., software technical lead) experience
  • Broad understanding of enterprise deployment and implementation issues within a technology solution
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong management and leadership experience
  • Extensive experience using Java (J2EE), XML and database development on two or more computing platforms
  • 5 full software life cycles
  • Security: LDAP, Security Architecture
  • Product Development Experience desired
  • Travel 50%

  • J2EE, Web services, XML , .NET

Databases:

  • Oracle, DB2, SQL

Operating Systems:

  • Linux, Unix, Microsoft, Solaris

Application Servers:

  • BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, JBOSS

Security Tools:

  • SiteMinder , Tivoli AM, Oblix , Sun

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics.  Masters degree and applicable certifications preferred.
