Company Announces Support of SAP’s Vision for Enterprise SOA; SOA Network Director Now“Powered by SAP NetWeaver®”
LOS ANGELES, Calif.—January 15, 2007 — SOA Software, a leading provider of comprehensive SOA and Web services management, security, mediation and run-time governance solutions, today announced expanded support for SAP AG’s blueprint for enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) through its membership in the Enterprise Services Community (ES Community) and its new status as an SAP® Software Partner. By using SOA Software’s Service Manager and Network Director products, user organizations are beginning to accelerate the adoption of Web services by providing complementary and supported functionality across their entire SOA.
“The adoption of industry-accepted standards and assurances regarding discrete cross-product interoperability are critical to most enterprises evaluating technologies to incorporate into an SOA,” said Sandra Rogers, program director of SOA, Web services, and Integration research at IDC. “Efforts such as those undertaken by members of the ES Community, including customers and partners of SAP such as SOA Software, are targeted at helping organizations address some of the technical challenges of bringing together a multi-vendor SOA environment.”
SAP has launched the collaborative, cross-industry ES Community program to bring together thought leaders from diverse industries to share ideas and innovations in enterprise services. Through the ES Community program, members gain unique access to a rich repository of enterprise services. The community includes members from SAP, customers and partners who jointly define enterprise services based on shared priorities, helping to facilitate the adoption of enterprise SOA. According to SAP, enterprise services provide the common business language enabling software applications and infrastructure products running on disparate systems to communicate within an enterprise SOA.
“SOA Software and SAP share a common vision for enterprise SOA,” said Roberto Medrano, executive vice president of SOA Software. “SAP’s strategy is powerful and compelling, and we are committed to working together as a member of the ES Community to provide value-added solutions and services that accelerate this breakthrough architecture’s adoption.”
SOA Software’s Network Director version 3.5 has also achieved “Powered by SAP NetWeaver®” status. The Powered by SAP NetWeaver designation allows customers that are standardizing on the SAP NetWeaver platform to deploy their SOA infrastructure solution running on top of the SAP NetWeaver platform, rather than having to invest in another application server platform to provide this infrastructure.
